An evening on Santa Monica Pier w/ La Victoria!
Just a quick detour from our time abroad! ;) We're going to stay here on the West Coast for this little update to talk Mexican-inspired flavor!
I was recently invited to attend their 100th Anniversary bash here in Los Angeles, California - and you guys already know there's no way I'm passing up the opportunity to enjoy some incredible mexican food and drink fantastic red wine amongst wonderful people! The celebration was for 100 guests, where we would gather to celebrate 100 years of La Victoria and enjoy an extravagant multi-course meal prepared by a local chef - Eddie Ruiz! By the way, they did ALL of this on the Pier! It couldn't have been any more picturesque! You could smell the sea air and distantly hear all the sounds of a lively boardwalk amidst the live band playing! It was beyond enchanting!
YOU GUYS... THIS FOOD!
Every dish that came out of the kitchen was utterly delectable! I'm a full-blown brussel sprout addict ( as is my sweet husband ) so when they brought out the Blistered Brussels and Cauliflower, I wouldn't be surprised if heart-shaped bubbles immediately started drifting out of my wide-eyes! It was heavenly!!!!
I even snuck into the kitchen for a few minutes to do an Instagram Live! Thanks to those who joined me during my livestream to watch the chef in action and checkout the gorgeous event setup. It was a lot of fun getting to share a little bit of the event with you guys while I was still there. If you didn't join in, that's okay! I snapped a few photos of the chef and his team preparing the food - you can find those above!
Honestly, there wasn't anything that I couldn't rave about! But I think the brussels and enchiladas were my absolutely favorite! Dessert was utterly divine and in the most adorable little portions! Since we were all so full of a million delicious things, our table agreed that we were quite grateful the dessert were such a size.
I attended the event solo since Nick is on tour overseas right now, but made so many wonderful new friends - so huge thank you to La Victoria for not only hosting an incredibly beautiful event, but also inviting such spectacular people to attend!
After enjoying the spectacular meal and live music of the event, I was gifted this adorable canvas bag, complete with a jar of La Victoria Salsa and a beautiful wooden serving bowl! Nick was very excited when I shared the news with him! LOL We just looooove our salsa!
Once I got home, I was craving those delicious brussels again (go figure!) so I decided to make them at home for myself! You can find the original recipe created by the chef here if you want to give it a go yourself! It's not overly complicated and oh my gooooodness - it's delicious!
Thanks for catching up with me to recap my fun night with La Victoria! Our Disneyland Paris post is only a few days away.... ;)
